Top marks for excellent journalism
Cambridge Assessment is proud to support the Chartered Institute of Public Relations’(CIPR) Outstanding Education Reporting for National Journalists award, which will be presented on Thursday 29 June. The award recognises the importance of high quality reporting in the education sector.
The awards are organised by the CIPR’s Education and Skills Group, which supports the needs of communications and PR professionals in education. The Group believes that the field of education journalism has been unsung for too long, despite the rise of ‘education’ as a key political and social issue.
Simon Lebus, Cambridge Assessment’s CEO who will present the Award, said: “Everyone involved in education recognises the contribution that is made to our national debate by well informed specialist journalists. We are proud to support this and we look forward to having the opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding achievement of the winner and two runners-up.”
The winning journalists were selected by an independent panel of senior education sector figures and were chosen for their outstanding coverage on a particular issue or aspect of national education during the 2005 calendar year. Entries were openly invited from education journalists operating in national print, broadcast or web-based media.
