Cambridge Assessment adds to debate on KS3

Cambridge Assessment’s advice on and knowledge about national assessment arrangements for Key Stage 3 will be heard at a forthcoming joint policy and research seminar to be held at the Nuffield Foundation, Friday 9 January 2009.

Tim Oates, Group Director of Assessment Research and Development at Cambridge Assessment, will give a personal view of where things are with alternative assessment models which might be adopted to better deliver the aims of national assessment. Tim’s previous work on this topic can be found in the research paper Alternative Approaches to National Assessment (KS1, KS2, KS3). Download Tim's paper (PDF 59Kb).

Tim’s input along with the other contributors at the event – which include Chris Whetton from the NFER and Gordon Stobart from the Institute of Education – will be presented to the DCSF’s “Expert Group” set up to propose revised arrangements in its report on Key Stage 3 in February 2009.
