10,000 organisations accept Cambridge English qualifications

Around 10,000 organisations now accept Cambridge ESOL language qualifications as proof of English for immigration, entrance to higher education and enhanced career prospects. Recognising organisations include the UK Border Agency, the Greek Civil Service and leading Higher Education Establishments around the world – including the top Ivy League Institutions and the Russell Group.

Each year over three million candidates sit Cambridge ESOL tests in over 130 countries and the exam board, which is part of the Cambridge Assessment Group, recently announced that the number of sessions available to take the tests will increase by 50 per cent in 2010.

“We have developed a flexible range of valid English language tests as we recognise that for language assessment one size does not fit all,” explains Sean Hayde, Head of Sales at Cambridge ESOL. “Whether you’re a lawyer wanting to enhance your legal English, a parent keen to check your child’s progress or applying for a higher education course in an English speaking environment, there is an accurate and reliable qualification available from Cambridge”.

The exams are all aligned to common European standards and popular tests include the Key English Test (KET), Preliminary English Test (PET) and the Certificate of Advanced English (CAE). There are also a number of work related English tests aimed at the financial, legal and business sectors. Cambridge ESOL is also one of the joint owners of the popular International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
