Get RSS Feeds
Feeds, also known as Really Simple Syndication (RSS), allow you to see when websites have added new content.
Information feeds allow you to get the latest information and updates in one place, as soon as it's published, without the need to regularly visit the website you have taken the feed from.
How do I start using feeds?
To start using feeds you will need to download an RSS Reader, there are many RSS readers available for both Windows and Mac. Once you have downloaded your feed software, all you need to do is decide what content you want to receive from the Related Items list.
For example, if you would like the latest press releases, simply click on the orange button on the left hand side, under Available Feeds, you can then subscribe to the feed by dragging or cutting and pasting the URL into your feed software.
How do I download RSS Reader software?
There are a number of different RSS Readers available and new versions are appearing all the time. It is important to choose one that will work with your computer as different readers work on different operating systems. The latest browsers tend to have RSS Readers built in.
A list of free RSS Readers are available on the left.
Access on Mobile device
This site's content has also been designed to display in viewable formats on handheld platforms.
For example, if you are accessing the website from a mobile device, pages automatically remove unneccessary content and are presented in a basic format to assist browsing and increase page-load speed.
You can now keep up to date with the latest Cambridge Assessment updates anytime, anywhere!

Microformats
We now use ‘Microformats*’.These allow data items such as events, contact details or locations, on web pages, to be meaningfully detected and the information in them to be extracted by software, and indexed, searched for, saved or cross-referenced, so that it can be reused or combined.
hCard Addresses
The ‘hCard *’ microformat is used to mark up contact addresses for individuals, organisations or venues, so that they can be discovered by search engines, or downloaded directly into your computer's address-book programme, without you having to retype them. See for example, the Contact Us page.
You can also download all contact information from this site straight into your desktop email programme as vcards - ‘.vcf’ files *.
hCalendar Events
The ‘hCalendar *’ microformat is designed to describe calendar-based data (like events) and will allow these to be automatically added to your desktop calender software as iCalender events. See, for example, the Events page.
To stay up to date with Cambridge Assessment Events you can subscribe to our calender as an icalendar feed.
The iCalender standard is currently supported by a variety of calender providers eg. (the latest version of Mircosoft Outlook, Apple's iCal application, Google Calendar,Lotus Notes, Microsoft Entourage, Microsoft Exchange, Mozilla Calendar (including Mozilla Sunbird), 37signals Backpack, 30 Boxes, Darwin Calendar Server, Contactizer and iPod. Buni Meldware Communication Suite, Chandler, Drupal with its event module, Citadel, Facebook, FirstClass, Horde, Jalios JCMS, KOrganizer, Mulberry, Novell Evolution, Novell GroupWise, Nuvvo, Simple Groupware, Sun Java Calendar Server, Upcoming.org, Windows Calendar, Webical, Zimbra Collaboration Suite, etc etc)
You can also download individual events from this site to your calander as ‘.ics’ files. These are understood by most desktop calender programmes*.
Other Microformats
This site also uses other microformats (eg. hReview) which enable and encourage the sharing, distribution, syndication, and aggregation of information.
The next releases of major browsers will support microformats natively.
Social News and Bookmarking Sites
By sharing digital media, users can participate in determining site content by discovering, selecting, and discussing the news and bookmarks that appeal to them. We encourage this at Cambridge Assessment and therefore make it easy to add our content to the major collaborative social news and bookmarking sites.
Del.icio.us
The most popular social bookmarking service is known as Deli.icio.us. It is owned by Yahoo. Cambridge Assessment Keynotes can be easily added to your del.icio.us bookmarks.
Digg
In terms of social news, Digg is a leading community-based popularity news website where stories are submitted by users, and then promoted to the front page through a user-based ranking system. Cambridge Assessment Keynotes can be easily added to the Digg website.
N.B. Both Digg and Del.icio.us are sites that are owned and run by 3rd parties. Cambridge Assessment is in no way affiliated to these sites and is not responsible for content found on these sites.
