I joined Cambridge University Press & Assessment in 2019 as part of a cohort of data science apprentices and now work in the Data Science Unit within the Assessment Research and Development Division.
Many of my projects involve using machine learning and natural language processing techniques. A recent project has involved researching and developing algorithms to automatically mark science questions based on data extracted from handwritten student responses. I also maintain and develop services that provide data reporting and analytics capabilities to the wider organisation.
I studied at Durham University, completing an MEng in Engineering in 2015. I went on to attain an MSc in Data Analytics (Digital and Technology Solutions) at Anglia Ruskin University, which I completed in 2021 as part of a degree-level apprenticeship scheme supported by Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
