The Tri-borough Education Service are hosting 'Primary Conference – Making a Difference' on the 18 November 2016. This event is part of a series of conferences they are running including the recent 'Secondary Educational Excellence Conference'. Tim Oates Group Director of Assessment Research and Development at Cambridge Assessment, will be delivering the keynote speech on developing assessment policy for primary education.

His keynote speech will address the removal of the requirement to use National Curriculum ‘levels’ to assess the progress of school pupils. There has been a high degree of uncertainty about the approaches which might best replace existing systems. The discussion which took place around the compelling evidence, which led to the recommendation to remove levels, will be tackled to gain a clearer understanding about the principles which should underpin assessment in both the Primary and Secondary segments of the system.

Further discussion around assessment without levels can be found on the Insights section of our website
