This year’s annual Independent Schools Conference returns on the 28 November 2019 to the Queen Elizabeth II Centre, London. The conference will give attendees the chance to hear from industry leading speakers, debate hot topics and build lasting relationships that could result in mutually beneficial initiatives.

The independent schools sector educates approximately 625,000 pupils in around 2,600 schools across the UK. These schools strive to provide excellent teaching and learning experiences for every pupil and provide the tools needed to increase their attainment. Additionally, there has been a growing focus on developing critical links with local schools and councils to ensure that they continue to deliver in their role as enhancers of education standards across the country. By bringing together over 300 senior leaders from schools, Central and Local government, and the wider education sector this conference endeavours to raise the standard of independent schools across the UK.

Tim Oates CBE, Group Director of Assessment Research and Development, will be delivering an afternoon session focussing on student opportunities, specifically, Cambridge IGCSE vs GCSE; which is the best for your school? This will be discussed along with a variety of other topics including: teaching recruitment and retention, partnership and collaboration, university transitions, funding and access, classroom technology and pastoral care.
