it has been inspiring how teachers all over the world coped and bounced back.

The Cambridge Live Experience took place online from 8 – 10 September 2020 and brought together some of the world’s leading English language teaching and exam experts for talks on a range of themes including advice on transitioning back to the physical classroom, online learning, socially distanced teaching, understanding learners’ levels and providing emotional support. The event also included a series of sessions designed to support well-being ranging from cooking lessons to a mindfulness session.

Fran Woodward, Chief Executive of Cambridge Assessment English, said: “Teachers are faced with a unique set of challenges in light of what is proving to be a really difficult year. Overnight they had to find new ways of teaching with many switching to the online environment, and it has been inspiring how teachers all over the world coped and bounced back. We hosted this event with Cambridge University Press to reach out to teachers and help them get ready for the unpredictable months ahead. Many are finding their roles changing with the need to combine online teaching with the physical classroom and it's essential teachers are able to overcome these challenges to ensure education does not stop. The event was a great chance to share ideas and practical tips from around the world that can be taken back into the teaching environment”.

The three-day event was open to teachers from all over the world and included more than 25 sessions showcasing teaching approaches and ideas from experts from Cambridge Assessment English and Cambridge University Press. All the sessions can be watched again via the Cambridge Assessment English You Tube Channel.
