Ruth Carter, Sector Specialist, Oxford, Cambridge and RSA (OCR), will be presenting her case study on beyond examinations – demonstrating skills and competencies from 09:45 – 09:55.

This seminar is following on Ofsted’s recent report on Getting ready for work which was published in November 2016. The report examines how secondary schools are preparing young people for the world of work through enterprise education and work related learning and encourages the Government to do more to promote enterprise education in schools to boost parents and students confidence in apprenticeships.  This seminar will also look into the next steps that can be taken to ensure that young people can gain the skills or experience they need to enter the world of work

Stakeholders and policyholders will be brought together to have the opportunity to discuss how to improve the work experience placements available for young people to increase employability skills. This seminar will also provide opportunity for stakeholders and policyholders to discuss and learn about the Government’s new mentoring campaign which will be led by the Careers and Enterprise Company.
